Development and Control Committee Requests (DCC)

Plan ahead if you are contemplating an improvement such as a fence, outbuilding, room addition, dock, boathouse, or other exterior improvement. All exterior improvements, and changes require approval, also boat docks, canopies, and replacement of any existing exterior structures. Requests should be submitted in writing to the Development Control Committee(DCC) on a SHPOA Request for Change Form. They should include plot plans showing all existing improvements and the location of the proposed improvement including size, color, composition, and any other data requested by the committee. These requests may be dropped off at the Clubhouse, 1156 South Harbour Drive. Any planned modifications to previously approved improvements must be submitted for approval before incorporating the modifications. The only South Harbour Approvals are in writing from the South Harbour Development Control Committee. A SHPOA Request for Change Form can be obtained from the Clubhouse Office or the SHPOA Website in Documents page - www.southharbour.org.

Please remember that any planned modifications to previously approved improvements must be submitted for approval before incorporating the modifications. The only South Harbour Approvals are in writing from the South Harbour Developmental Control Committee.

 
DCC Request Form

If you are making significant changes to your home or have projects to enhance the outside of your home, a Development and Control Committee (DCC) Request Form is required for approval under the association Guidelines and Restrictions.  When in doubt if your home project requires a request, it is best to submit a form.

Here are the steps to submit a DCC request for approval:

  1. Click here and print a copy of the form.

  2. Fill out the form completely.

  3. Attach appropriate diagrams, contractor estimates and similar items to the form.

  4. Drop off the completed form with attachments, at your convenience, at the Clubhouse and use the dropbox during after hours.

  5. A Committee will come out to your property in the next 7 to 15 days to look at your property and discuss the request with you.

  6. A formal written response will be given in about 2 weeks after the Committee visits. (We try to get them back within 3-5 days, but sometimes we get busy.)

We encourage all residents to make appropriate additions and positive changes to their property. We try to make this process as quick and easy as possible while working within the Guidelines and Restrictions of the community.

Trash Containers - Our subdivision has a covenant that asks us to keep our trash cans and recycling tubs out of sight from the street on non-trash pick up days.
Mail Boxes

All mailbox posts should be painted black in order to meet the uniform mailbox post guideline.

Mailboxes and posts already painted are available at the Clubhouse.
Satellite Dishes

A question surfaced on the small satellite dishes. We usually like to be involved in the placement of these dishes, however a DCC request form is not required. The installer will take into consideration two items when positioning the dish:


  1. Direct line to a satellite
  2. Hiding it from view of other neighbors and the street.
